Le single The Power of love est classé n°1 aux USA, pendant deux semaines. Elle reçois un "Bilboard Award" ,et est nominée au "Grammy Award" avec When I fall in love et fais un gala avec Michael Jackson pour la soirée des " Jackson Family Honours".

Du 22 au 6 mai, elle pars en tournée au Japon avec l'orchestre symphonique de Tokyo.

En septembre, elle fait l'Olympia en vedette, pour 3 soirées exceptionnelles a guichets fermés.
